100 Days of Bad Decisions

Given that he broke virtually every major campaign promise he used to get the left and independents to elect him, he has to give them SOME kind of red meat to chew on. This torture thing does that, and also provides a desperately-needed media distraction from his abysmal and criminal performance with respect to the economy (which the media was just finally starting to notice). It keeps the focus on the previous administration rather than his own already-failed one.

I don’t know, James, if there is another attack, I’m not sure we can safely assume that BHO will get the blame he deserves. The OKC Bombing wasn’t blamed on Clinton, despite the fact that his administration either orchestrated it or his administration inspired it as a reaction to Ruby Ridge and Waco. Possibly both.

If and when it happens, who is ultimately blamed for any attack will be determined by what’s left of NYT, WaPo, CNN, Reuters, BBC, AP, et al., with no shortage of spew from Pelosi, Reid and BHO whining about “the last eight years of failed, unilateral, ‘cowboy’ diplomacy and aggressive foreign policy”. And I’m sure they’ll manage to mix in plenty about “ready availability of guns” and all that crap too.

Yes, the entrenched media is definitely becoming less relevant. Unfortunately, the rate of that ‘becoming’ is far too slow to have any immediate effect on US policy. They still control the opinions of a majority of Americans, either directly or through the obfuscation they pursue.

The blogosphere is making a difference, but it’s not significant enough yet. And unlike talk radio, it’s balanced out by the proliferation of leftists on-line. As long as the entrenched media continues to ignore and/or demonize bloggers – as they’ve done with the Tea Party movement – BHO can ignore them with relative impunity.

I just surfed on here because I liked your ESPers comics and Alpha Flight comics. Man I never expected to find such an extremist sentiment! The opinions above may not agree with my worldview, but you’ve got every right to say it.

I’m only going to take exception to one statement – your assertion that the Obama administration “…will make mortal enemies of the power players on the right and people who think the country has a right to defend itself against terror” implies that those who support investigating and if necessary prosecuting crimes committed by the CIA and the Bush Administration DO NOT think that the country has a right to defend itself against terror. I want to see the CIA investigated and if necessary prosecuted and I god damn well think the USA has a right to defend itself! You can state your opinion and argue the facts all you want, but don’t doubt the patriotism of your fellow Americans just because they take a different view than you. My wife and I both ride the NYC subway every day so we’re probably at a lot more risk than some of your commenters.

. If there is another attack it will be blamed on Obama, because he is making the CIA and the people who defend this country feel they will be judges no matter what they do which will seriously weaken any efforts we do to be on guard.
