Keep preaching the good word, my friend. This government machine must be stopped before our freedoms are forever lost to us. Call me crazy but I have a dream that even 1,000 years from now free men will still live under the Consitution and still tell stories to their children of the brave patriots who dared stand against a tyrant to have true liberty and control of their destinies. If the rise of government continues at this rate, the Consitution will fade into distant memory shared by only a few historians.

So, mainstreaming immigrants and their customs is a way to totalitarian control by the left?

The reason I ask is because we, Americans that is, we are…mutts. Our ancestry is from pretty much everywhere. England, Scandinavia, the Ivory Coast, Mexico, Ireland, China, North and South Korea, Egypt, India, Germany, Italy, South Africa, Poland, Lebanon, Romania, etc., etc. This is not including the more or less indigenous people from here as well – the Iroqouis, Apache, Lakota Sioux, Comanche, etc, etc. The one thing we have over most countries is that our culture adds and adapts everything. Within five blocks of my house, you can eat at restaurants with menu items from all over the world. Pretty damn good thing, too.

Well, I just read both articles.

It kind of smacks of the whole “I want my country back” rhetoric going on nowadays, all because the Dems have the White House for the time being (right now, It really could go either way in 2012, in my opinion).

“What’s wrong with this picture isn’t just that these people are evil. They are insane. They are only going to make an unbelievable amount of suffering which will lead to civil wars. And by undermining traditional culture, they will not be able to manage the mess they create. They have divided in order to conquer, but that will make the result unmanageable in the end.”

So, basically, evil lefties want to increase immigration and, therefore, destroy their own country, because they are evil.

Okay….

“That is why in the UK they are moving toward adopting Shaira (sic) law in places and seeing absurd immigration that a small country can’t sustain.”

For British Muslims who are keen to follow Islam, this poses a dilemma. An Islamic marriage is not recognised by British law, and therefore many couples will have two ceremonies – civil for the state, and Islamic for their faith.”

There is, of course, a movement to recognize sharia law in Britain. However, the movement to not recognize sharia in Britain, I would argue, is quite big. Sure, there are some flat-out racists in there, but a lot of folks don’t want any religion being recognized in that fashion. Of course, the Church of England still exists, but that’s another discussion for another day.

Question for you:

Considering the fact that I’m really not religious at all, and, generally, have no wish to be, and am against BOTH of the following, how is arguing sharia law be given legal status different from the lobbying of Christian groups like the Christian Coalition against gay marriage?

“The articles linked to are talking about the UK,. a much smaller country that is being seriously inundated by immigrants to the point where it is putting a serious train on the society, and is affecting the culture. The elites there are trying to basically sell out native Britains (sic) with the idea that immigrants will vote for them.”

It was pretty obvious that the article was talking about the UK, as the Mirror is a UK paper, I obviously grabbed part of an article for you from another UK paper (the Telegraph to add more info that was relevant, but OK.

“The Dems are suing (sic) similar tactics with immigrants here (.) They want amnesty for illegals because they thing (sic) that will give them this huge voting block.”

Remind me – what was our last president’s policy on illegal immigration again?

“I don’t have a problem with legal immigration,”

Never said or thought you had one.

“but illegal immigration that’s as uncontrolled as ours or in Europe is bringing with it lots of crime,. lots of strain on our institutions, huge cost to the states they can’t afford all of this is bad for the country. And that will lead to serious social problems. It already is.”

Aren’t we (that is, native-born and nationalized citizens) responsible for a lot of illegal immigration anyways? Because, you know, we pay them to show up? Just saying.

“As for Muslim law. that old “what about Christians?” canards is lame. Simply because Christians don’t have a separate legal system.”

Not like the crazy splinter sects of Mormons or other religious “families” (like the DeClouds of the early 80s here just outside of Kansas City). You know, the ones that allow for bigamy and marrying 11 and 12 year old girls to 55 year old men. Granted, our government does crack down on them, but, they do act upon thier own laws and bylaws until they are caught.

“Christian Americans are trying to get laws changed or upheld because that is the right of any citizen. No one is stopping you from doing the same.”

And Muslims don’t have the right to try and enact asinine legislation? Why not?

If you really think that the UK is going to make honor killings legal, you must have better hallucinogenic drugs than Hunter S. Thompson knew existed.

If that’s the case, how does sharia law seekers in Britain = illegal immigration woes here?

“But it is having a huge impact elsewhere, even in Canada.”

And, thankfully, people are pushing for recognition of the issue of sharia law.

“You may scoff at what she said in her articles, but I have lived in the UK and have seen it change. I don’t like seeing a culture get wiped out by willful neglect. What is being attempted by elites in Western Civilization will only lead to a lot more problems and violence. You’ll see.”

That’s right! We’ll all see! We’ll all be sorry! WE’LL ALL BE SORRY! BWAH-HA-HA-HA!……

…seriously, though, all societies change. Sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse. My biggest gripe here is that it seems to be a 2-minute hate on Muslims. Granted, there is a lot of Muslim terrorism, and a lot of backwards crazy sharia law, too, but they aren’t the only ones. Extremism is in every major religion and you know it.
