Let Me Be Clear

The Losers Trailer

Sinking

Back around 1991 (almost 20 years now, yikes!) I wrote a book called Sinking, which is the fictional autobiography of a schizophrenic. It was nominated for an Eisner Award.

I recently saw it uploaded on bit torrent and decided to download it and convert it to PDF. So I am going to make it available for free from this new site on the comics page soon. Once I get a few more things organized on here. Keep checking the links above. I think it’s a great book and should be read.

It’ll be free for download, but of course, it would be great if people want to donate something. I will put a tip jar on that page. I may do this with some of my other books.

UPDATE: You can now download the book from here.

New Host, New Blog Style

I was up for renewal and having nothing but problems at the old host so I have moved to a new one. I have no idea why the database error kept showing on the old site. Everything was fine as far as I could see. I moved the data over and now have the fun task of hooking up everything again and redoing the site.

Anyway, I decided on this simpler look for the blog after experimenting with a magazine style. The Magazine style takes a lot more work and requires images for everything, which is a pain to have to do. I decided this is easier to deal with and it actually is easier to read in some ways. A blog is made for reading after all. I’m a writer, not a photographer, dammit!

I’ll be building out the rest of the site, The blog will not be the front page when I am done. For now it is the main page.

Would have done it all sooner but I was slammed with work deadlines this week.

The good news is, because this site is more writer friendly and less a labor to post to, I will probably post more now. If the Brietbart sites don’t consume all my free writing time. Big Journalism is in the Top 100 on Technorati now. Hoo hah!

Apple’s iPad is Here

The specs.

It think it looks great. It’s basically a large iPhone. It runs that operating system (OS). And they were very wise to keep the price point down.

They will manage to do really well for a year or two. But don’t be shocked wen others release their versions, using Google’s Android OS, or Google’s Chome OS. Since Google’s stuff us open source, it should take over the market share unless Apple switches their policies, which I doubt.

But anyway, this is where publishing will go to be “saved.” I will write more on this at Big Journalism.

UPDATE: Here is my post.

The Dimness of Fading Stars

I can’t believe they didn’t use my title. Anyway, here is my latest Big Hollywood post.

It’s about how boorish Hollywood partisans have become. How they’re shooting their careers in the foot.

Hitler vs Khan

School

I’m not a huge fan of their later work, but this Supertramp album is excellent. Especially this one and “Bloody Well Right”, which follows it. This song got a lot of play on my stereo when I was in the Air Force. (Yes, long ago in the misty past)

Nope

He can’t get it done. And we’ll all be better for it. Especially since he has already done enough damage to the country.

Now’s they’re talking about a peace treaty with the Taliban, Can you say Vietnam redux? This cannot end well. If they think these fanatics can be bought off, they are in for a rude shock. As soon as we start pulling out of Afghanistan, they will move right back in.

Thankfully, all indications is Obama is neutered. He will have a difficult time getting anything passed from now on. The Dems are running scared. They are in deep trouble, as I said they’d be.

I suspect the face above is the one Obama will be seeing a lot as his fortunes fade.

McCain in Vain

About today’s SCOTUS decision on Big Journalism

I have another one coming on the ending of Air America.

UPDATE: Here is my Air America piece.

Hud in 1993

Heres’ a picture Hank Kanalz uploaded to Facebook of me, Gary Daniels (an actor who played Hardcase) and Chris Ulm from the early days of Malibu’s Ultraverse.

Too True

True about Obama, not Limbaugh. People who voted for him are starting to get it. Mass was just the beginning.

UPDATE: My Big Journalism piece on this subject.

Political Madness

Politics is defined as: use of intrigue or strategy in obtaining any position of power or control, as in business, university, etc.

But the truth is, politics is the science elites use to manipulate the masses into following their agendas.

Politicians use their understanding of human nature to manipulate people. They tell us what we want top hear. And all to get our consent to do somthing you would normally disagree with if you knew hat was really involved.

Human beings are motivated by self interest. Even the most saintly human being is still controlled by those things hardwired into them by nature. We all need to eat, breathe, mate, sleep, etc. We are ruled to one extent or another by these drives. And this sometimes makes us irrational. One of those irrational natures that extends from this is greed. Gluttony is a form of greed. It’s a greed for food. Sloth is a greed for relaxation. Lust is a greed for sex. Greed is the one big motivator and it is an extension of our natural urges. It is the source of “original sin”. We can’t escape our humanity. We can only try to control ourselves.

People who can’t control their greed are controlled by it. And then they often rationalize their motives to excuse themselves. To make themselves feel better. But they usually know they have a problem. They turn their self loathing on others in many ways, from insults to violence, to cheating and theft.

Once you understand human motivation directs our actions, you can understand why some political systems can’t work. They go against human nature. Communism and socialism are doomed to fail because they expect people to be selfless and non-corrupt. That simply doesn’t happen. So all such political systems become more corrupt, not less. They rely on some kind of bureaucracy and such things metastasize into bloated cancers that kill the host they were supposed to serve.

The reason the United States government has survived so long is the founders understood human nature. So they created a system of checks and balances to make it hard for the corrupt to ruin the system too much. It has taken a long time for them to cheat the system and make it the mess it is now.But fortunately, our checks and balances system may help right some of these wrongs. Tonight’s election goes a long way to stopping one party from ramming their agenda down everyone’s throats.

They are greedy to the extreme. They have lost all sense of reality. The people have spoken to them and they mocked them. They ignored them. And they did so at their peril.

This is only the start of something that started earlier in the year. Watch as the clueless and deluded ones destroy themselves and their party. It’s human nature writ large.

Tomorrow’s Mass-acre

If Scott Brown wins tomorrow in Massachusetts, it will send a very clear signal that the Democrats days of pushing American’s around are coming to a close. I’m sure, in a last ditch attempt, they will try to ram through Obamacare, but they may find the votes hard to come by as many Dems will see the ship is sinking and will abandon the bill.

However, they have shown an inclination to do kamikaze style voting on this monstrosity. They may go down in flames and still get this monster through. If they do,it will bring about some real change, because in November the public will vote in whoever vows to kill the bill. It may get passed, signed into law, but a new House can cut off the funding and let it wither on the vine.

This year will be a real indication of how much the people really care. A lot of politicians will be utterly clueless. They will blame it on unemployment (a factor to be sure), white anger (aren’t you sick of the racism from these creeps?), etc. They will probably deny tea party people have any kind of influence but they would be wrong. They have tried to marginalize honest Americans who just wanted to be heard and in the process have created a monster. One that will kill them.

I expect Brown to win. I expect the Dems to cheat. Al indications are in Brown’s favor. The degree will determine the spin coming out of Washington. If he kills it. they will have to see the writing on the wall. It will be a shot at Obama’s policies in that case. If it’s close, they will just say it’s Coakley’s fault.

UPDATE: Told ya.

Now we see how badly the Dems react. Do they see the light or make things worse? Their reaction to this election will set the course for November. I suspect the leadership will act badly. They are drunk on their own hubris. They are out of their depth and Obama is too vain to realize that this was a message to him.

This is going to be an interesting year.
