Generation Zero

From what I have seen of this film, in cuts that were shown on Fox, it is exceptional. I highly recommend it. It comes out next month which is around the corner. It deals with our looming financial crisis (which is only getting started) and what lead us to this point and how we can get out of it.

Global Bullies Want Your Money

Australian Science reporter Joanne Nova has another excellent PDF for download, a followup to her Skeptics Handbook to Global Warming. It’s called Global Bullies Want Your Money. I highly recommend it. It’s free.

Nova started out believing in AGW until she really researched it as any reporter should, and discovered what an alarming scam the whole thing is. Her handbooks have been translated into 10 languages now.

The New Fascists: Part 3

My Big Journalism series on the rise of statism in the US continues with part three: Execution. It’s a good primer on what is happening in our world and country.

The Dems are Frauds

In case you needed more evidence, here it is. These people have become a utter joke.

Seeing no prospect of a bipartisan agreement on health care, Congressional Democrats said Friday that they would make another effort to pass sweeping health care legislation on their own.

If anything, Democrats said, their seven-hour meeting with President Obama and Republicans on Thursday confirmed their belief that it was futile to try to work with Republicans on a major health care bill because the philosophical differences between the parties were too profound.

If you saw that alleged Health Care summit the only thing they did was ignore everything the Republicans said and repeated their talking points which the public has already rejected. So they plan to use reconciliation which was not designed for something this big and the excuse they’re using is the Republicans wouldn’t cooperate. In other words, they did not knuckle under.

The Democrats show no interest in listening to the will of the people. They use double talk and lies to say that the people really agree with them. If they pass this bill the way they claim, several things can still happen. It can be sued and then the Supreme courts can kill it or parts of it. Or, if Republicans regain the majority or enough seats, they can defund the bill and kill it that way. I would rather not trust either of those things to happen. Republicans are showing a spine now, but will they next year? I would rather not have to find out. But we can hope that enough Democrats won’t go along with this madness. Pelosi and Reid are throwing their party members under the bus. They know that voting for this will kill their election chances. The smart ones will vote against it. The question is, are there enough crazy ideologues to get it through. That’s the concern.

Honestly, these people are beyond the pale. They are far worse in reality than any thing they accused Republicans of a few years ago.

Wilber: What Would Simon Say?

North Korean Comics

Yes, they have comic books in North Korea. And naturally, they are full of propaganda. No surprise, the Americans are the villains of these books. Gee, are they trying out for work at Marvel?

A Telling Poll

CNN did a recent poll that showed what people think of the Obama Government. And it’s certainly not good.

A majority of Americans think the federal government poses a threat to rights of Americans, according to a new national poll.

Fifty-six percent of people questioned in a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey released Friday say they think the federal government’s become so large and powerful that it poses an immediate threat to the rights and freedoms of ordinary citizens. Forty-four percent of those polled disagree.

Mr. Hope and Change has brought fear unto the land. The Democrats complete disregard for the American people is not helping things. They are not listening to what the public says about the health care debate. They want to ram it through regardless.

This poll does not bode well for the party of big government this November,

Health Care Joke

The joke is the Health Care Summit that Obama called, which was as effectual as his “Race Summit”. Both were nothing but an excuse for more face time for the president, who doesn’t seem to be interested in actually doing a job, just looking like he’s doing one.

He reminds me of those people in an office and walk around with folders in their hand so it looks like they are actually doing something, but they’re just killing time till they can clock out.

This summit only accomplished something Obama didn’t want to happen. It made him and the other Democrats look petty and small. From the fact that they got to speak more than twice the amount of time the Republicans did. The Dems mostly told fake sounding sob stories and lied about how the public really wanted their bills to pass despite the polls.

Obama was the worst, some of his statements were either absurd, blatant falsehoods or disrespectful to the Republicans who showed up in good faith. And the Dems showed that they had no intention of listening to any Republican ideas. He ended it with a veiled threat which was rather ironic because it will come true for the Dems.

Various senators and congress people being interviewed after this summit have said they don’t expect anything to pass now. Which means, even the reconciliation process might not work. Obama is said to have a “plan B’. Frankly, I hope that fails too. He seems completely out of touch with the realities this country is facing. America has to cut back on the government and expenses. Not increase them. These bills would only add to the debt dramatically. This president and Congress seems completely clueless about fiscal responsibility. Time to go, people.

Terrorists in the Military: The Legacy of Political Corrrectness

My latest article for Big Journalism. The five suspects at Fort Jackson were cleared. But the concern remains. We’re at war and there’s no reason to think something like that couldn’t happen.

Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths

I review the latest DC animated film over on Big Hollywood. I liked it a lot.

Reagan Was Right

Socialized medicine is a method for the government to have more control over everyone’s lives. When they make life or death decisions over you.

Now he was talking about Medicare here. But what happened with Medicare? The system is failing as all such bureaucracies do over time. Socialism does not work. It leads to economic collapse. We’re seeing it happening in Europe now. It will happen here if we don’t shed these socialist systems put in by progressive administrations. ‘

Obamacare would be the worst thing we could do right now.

UPDATE: The wall street journal discusses what the latest bill is all about here.

Mass Effect 2

I’ve been playing this game. It is even better than the first one, which was the best Sci-Fi game yet. It creates a really wonderful space explorer feel in a Star Wars type universe full of alien races and space colonies. The designs are fantastic. I love walking around the alien cities. The battles are well done. It’s like a SF version of Dragon Age: Origins, in a way, though part one preceded that game. This has better graphics than the first, which was excellent already. It takes place 2 years later and Captain Shepard gets a new ship and has to find a fresh crew to take on another mysterious alien race that’s attacking human colonies.

The aliens are fantastic. Their faces express emotions in subtle ways. And they got a lot of good actors to play the characters.

If you like SciFi then you’d love this game. It really takes you to some fantastic places. It’s like being in a cool SF novel or movie.

Net Neutrality

Another good Reason TV video. The fact is, the statists want the government to control the internet so they can limit who says what there. That is why they want the FCC to oversee it. The FCC has the racist crackpot Mark Lloyd involved with it. He wants to shut down all dissenting political views. No thanks.

Net neutrality must be stopped. We’ve already seen how bad this administrations ideas are. We don’t need them to get any more powerful.

Another Climate Gate Casualty

Yet another fake claim by the warm-mongers is shot down. Well, actually, recanted. Reported in the Guardian no less.

Scientists have been forced to withdraw a study on projected sea level rise due to global warming after finding mistakes that undermined the findings.

The study, published in 2009 in Nature Geoscience, one of the top journals in its field, confirmed the conclusions of the 2007 report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). It used data over the last 22,000 years to predict that sea level would rise by between 7cm and 82cm by the end of the century.

At the time, Mark Siddall, from the Earth Sciences Department at the University of Bristol, said the study “strengthens the confidence with which one may interpret the IPCC results”. The IPCC said that sea level would probably rise by 18cm-59cm by 2100, though stressed this was based on incomplete information about ice sheet melting and that the true rise could be higher.

Gosh, the taste of crow must be awfully dire, eh? All these AGW pimps are having to change their story in the wake of Climate Gate. So much for their doomsday predictions. No wonder Gore and company have been awfully quiet lately.
