Wandrin’ Star

One of my favorite songs, even though Lee Marvin isn’t much of a singer. It was a hit song in the late 1960s. My uncle took me to see this movie when I was a kid. It’s from Paint Your Wagon.

I remember going to see Paint Your Wagon with my parents when it came out. Lee Marvin may not have been the greatest singer but it was a good song.

Now Clint Eastwood singing in that movie…that was horrid!

I loved that movie when I was a kid. Still enjoyable to watch. Yeah, some of the non-pro singing was weak but you have to give them credit for trying!
Speaking of that, I was certainly surprised by Depp’s singing in Sweeny Todd. He had never sung, even in a high school chorus, but obviously had a knack. Bonham-Carter did a remarkable job considering she has the hardest tunes to sing in the musical.

Some actors do pretty well with no singing experience. Reese Witherspoon in Walk the Line surprised even herself. Gwenneth Paltrow isn’t bad in Duets. Renée Zellweger and John C Reilly in Chicago. But whatever you do, do not see Mama Mia for Pierce Brosnan’s “singing.” Yikes!
