Can't say I agree with everything Dennis Hopper did — his personal life was a trainwreck(!) —, but I at least admire the fact that the guy valued freedom.
He understood that much at least unlike most of the dopes in California now.
He was very much an anti-establishment fellow in the classic mold and not the Liberal type who embraced bigger government interference in our personal lives and authoritarianism.
Even if I haven't seen that many of his films, I get the idea about personal freedom and the little guy being left alone in Easy Rider.
That's tons better than anything a creep like Oliver Stone has ever had to say…!
It's sad to me that hippies grew up to be statists, worse than what they thought their parents were, The world they rebelled against was much freer than this one.
