Three Musketeers Trailer

A hell of a lot of CGI and modern sounding dialog. But I love the way it looks.

There isn’t the slightest possibility this could be 1/10th as good as the insanely brilliant Lester version.  If you haven’t seen it, the Three Musketeers/Four Musketeers double-DVD is the best $11.63 you’ll ever spend.  Fabulous cast (yay Spike Milligan!) and one of my favorite screenplays ever–by Flashman novelist George MacDonald Fraser.  Great sets and costumes.  Even the fight choreography is great–some of the most realistic swordplay I’ve ever seen (kick him in the balls!).

Agree. Great films both and the best versions of the Musketeers ever.

Love the “you go gurl” sword fightress in the remake- a sure sign the movie will stink like 3 day old road kill. With any luck it will be only available in 3D and die a quick and painless death.

Two words – STEAM PUNK.  If that isnt enough to convince you to give it a chance I don’t know what will.  It is so obviously Three Musketeers in the form of a comic book superhero adventure.  It may be a remake, but at least it’s damn well trying to be an ORIGINAL remake.

More accurately, it’s Baroque Punk. I love the baroque era. The costumes and art. Baroque punk is a cool thing I have only seen one artist do something with so I love the concept of a movie done that way, and with the Three Musketeers no less. It may suck, but I am all for checking it out
