At Comic-Con 2011 with Dan Brereton

Dan’s looking good.  It would have been nice to see some of his recent originals.
I doubt I’ll ever go to the SDCC again–it’s just insanity–but I do miss wandering through Artist’s Alley and meeting up with old pals.  The two main reasons I quit going are that it just got too damn big (last time I went, it took me 20 minutes to fight my way from the front door to the Dark Horse booth), and the SDCC quit giving pros a one-week jump on reserving hotel rooms.  Last time I tried to go the best room I could get was four miles from the con.  I decided to skip it, and just flew in for the day to attend a meeting with Kodansha and Dark Horse.
