Aquila is a Roman Scout in the year zero AD. He is tasked with finding out whats going on in the fringes of the Empire. And what he finds is usually disturbing. Here’s a panel from the upcoming story.

The story will be released digitally later as a stand alone issue with additional material.

The art looks amazing and its coming along very nicely. I hope to be sharing a peek soon.

In the mean time, the color Age of Heroes trade is coming this fall in the UK and im working to finish 2 to the Chest this year. I’m planning a Kickstarter campaign to hasten it along. Stay tuned.

I was informed by the publisher of my comics in digital form, Devils Due, that 2 to the Chest is the hardest thing of mine to find issues of. Im looking forward to finishing it and having it made available digitally.

My friend and collaborator Batton Lash has a campaign on Kickstarter of which I’m a donor, and he has three days left for people to donate. He’s already reached his goal but is trying to get over $9,000 for expenses. He low balled it initially because he had no idea how it would do.

That’s me in the orange velvet shirt circa 1982 at the Land of Oohs and Aahs Comics in Fountain Valley, CA. I got to know the late Alfredo Alcala back then. He was a character, but a nice guy. For those of you who don’t know he was a great comics artist and inker from the Phillipines. He had his own company once, and a comics artist school. He also inked a lot of American comics including Conan over John Buscema Sr.

The Eagle is a important comics award in Britain.

I’m happy to be a part of the magazine. Its a nice anthology and I will hopefully be adding some more new material to it soon.

I got my comps today from Marvel. Its nice to see a Marvel book with my name on it again. And they did a great job with the printing, it looks good. I started reading it and it brought back memories of my first days in the mainstream publishing world.

If you get a copy of the book on page 170 you can see where I reference digital comics. This was back in the 1980s, circa 1987ish. I thought up an ipad like device for comics back then. Of course, the one in the comic looks clunkier than the real ipad, but I didn’t ask for it to look the way the artist drew it. I envisioned something similar to the ipad in my head way back then.

The Strikeforce: Morituri trade will be out this week I imagine or next. Check it out.

I’m happy to see Marvel is releasing my Strikeforce: Morituri work in two volumes. The first should be out shortly.

It’s my first work for Marvel and is also Mark Bagley’s first regular Marvel work. Val Mayerik even did some inking on these issues. Which was the first time we worked together. I took over the book from Peter Gillis and Brent Anderson and moved it away from the aliens they had which was the Horde, a kind of bloated barbarian race and more into a cyber-punkish direction with the mysterious aliens who came to “save us” from the Horde. Adventure ensue.

Not sure if they are planning on releasing my Electric: Undertow miniseries in a trade also. That would be swell. But I’m glad to see some of my work reprinted finally. It’s pretty entertaining, I think. Early Hudnall, but written with a lot of passion.
