MMO games are hot and some new ones coming out look interesting. I played DC Universe Online over the weekend, which you can play for free now, and it was quite good. I rather liked it, but I don’t have time to keep playing. Just wanted to check it out. Having spent a lot of time in the City of Heroes/City of Villains world it’s taken it to another level, especially since they draw on the DC universe story lines in interesting ways. You can explore places in the DC universe that are well known, like the Justice League’s space station or visit Crime Alley where Bruce Wayne’s parents were killed. TEam up with DC Universe heroes and/or villains. And the game is pretty nice looking.

But this new Secret World game has my interest. One of the problems I have with MMOs is that they are oddly dissatisfying while being addictive. It’s always a grind and when you finish a goal you have endless other goals just like it to solve. You feel like you’re on a treadmill of sorts. What interests me about this game is it seems to have taken a new approach to the medium. We’ll see.

If you haven’t played Angry Birds before, it’s a hot game on the iphone and ipad. And now they made it available for free on the web. It’s an addicting game.

I finally got to play it. Got a good way into chapter 2 before I had to stop and get back to work. It’s fantastic. Same humor as before, only more so. It starts off with you waking up in what looks like a cheap motel room. but you soon find out you were in some kind of suspended animation. I won’t say much more than that, but the game comes with an interactive preview of the movie Super 8 as a game.

If I didn’t have work to do right now I would probably be playing all night.

UPDATE: Finished it on Monday. Awesome game. I liked how they took you through the history of Aperture Science during one part and they told the story of Cave Johnson, the president indirectly. Great storytelling in Valve Games. The writing is always excellent.

I can’t wait for this game. Looks right up my alley. Epic.

I’m really looking forward to this game.

The sequel to one of the best computer games ever. Portal 2. They have been putting out a series of humorous commercials for Aperture Science, the fictional company that made the portal gun used in the game, which are pretty amusing considering, as far as we know so far, all the people in that company are dead.

It’ll be here in a few weeks. The sequel to one of my favorite computer games ever. It looks even cooler and funnier than the first one. The game was a unique puzzle/action game with a wicked sense of humor. It won a ton of awards when the first one came out three years ago. Can’t wait to play this.

This video shows the two robots who can be played in co-opt mode. When you play solo you play a human trapped in this insane robot controlled factory and you have to find a way to get out.

This is another game that looks awesome. Bethesda makes quality entertainment. The Elder Scroll games are always worth the money, and this is using a new engine.

This looks seriously amazing. I liked the first Bioshock game. Didn’t play the second because it looked like a weak sequel, but this is set in a floating steam punk city.

Gotta say, this looks amazing.

I loved the first game. A really scary thrill ride through a demon infested spaceship. The reviews of the sequel make it sound that much better. Can’t wait to play it.

The first game was the best fantasy game I ever played. Bioware, who also made the excellent Mass Effect games, produces superb products. This one comes out March 8th. Can’t wait.

It’s amazing where these game machines are going. We’re about into that zone of future technology we thought was in the distant future. Except the future is now.

Portal 2 will have a mode where two people can play together, to solve puzzles it takes two to solve. Cool.
