Musicians are Robbed
How RIAA accounting makes sure even top talent can’t make much money from record sales. It’s a rigged game if there ever was one.

Edward Hil Reviews Parodies
The Lololol song has become an internet sensation, and Eduard Hil was filmed recently reacting to some of the parodies. More on Hil.
The Wheels of Life
One of my favorite songs from the excellent Brother to Brother album by Canadian singer Gino Vannelli. A much under-appreciated talent who is very original. I remember when that record came out, it got a lot of play. He’s since turned to jazz, which is not surprising as he is not really a pop artist. Brother to Brother was his most commercial work.
Wandrin’ Star
One of my favorite songs, even though Lee Marvin isn’t much of a singer. It was a hit song in the late 1960s. My uncle took me to see this movie when I was a kid. It’s from Paint Your Wagon.
School
I’m not a huge fan of their later work, but this Supertramp album is excellent. Especially this one and “Bloody Well Right”, which follows it. This song got a lot of play on my stereo when I was in the Air Force. (Yes, long ago in the misty past)
Doctorin’ the Tardis
A UK hit in 1988
UPDATE: I just watched the latest Doctor Who episode: The End of Time pt 1., which brings back the Master and a bunch of other characters as well as Timothy Dalton in a surprising role. The second part airs New Years Day. It will be the last episode starring David Tennant as the Doctor, alas. He was the best one, in my opinion. The next guy is in his 20s and looks like a 70s glam rock star. Not sure what I think of that until I see him perform.
Too Many Ways to Fail
Reminds me of a certain administration we talk about on here.
