Show Trial of the Century

OBAMANATION-7

It’s All a Scam

Imagine that the government spends billions of dollars in an effort to create jobs, or so they claim, but little or none are actually created. So they say they “saved or created jobs”. But when asked for proof they make up a lot of jobs that not only don’t exist, they are in districts that don’t exist. We’re not talking 5, 10, 20 districts. No, sir. That might be due to human error. But this sure the hell isn’t.

New Mexico Watchdog broke the story on Monday morning–the Obama Administration claimed to create jobs in congressional districts that did not exist. Those reporting errors, however, was not limited to New Mexico. A Watchdog study has found the stimulus has given $6.4 billion to 440 non-existent districts in all 50 states, D.C. and even four American territories. Click the links below to see what a Watchdog reporter has found in your state:

Six and a half billion went to non-existent districts. And they want to run health care.

Oh, it gets worse. You know how they like to pass these gigantic bills without reading them, and you wonder what’s in them? Well you have reason to wonder. How about this atrocity. They’ve made a “wood control” law. Yeah.

Anyone who imports into the United States, or exports out of the United States, illegally harvested plants or products made from illegally harvested plants, including timber, as well as anyone who exports, transports, sells, receives, acquires or purchases such products in the United States, may be prosecuted. In any prosecution under the Lacey Act, the burden of proof of a violation rests on the government.

And the law also includes wood handles on guns, as a means of controlling such guns even more. Read the whole thing.

The politicians have been ripping us off for years and undermining our freedoms at every turn. We are in for the fight of our lives to get our freedom back. Do not let them pass any bill until the Congress is purged of these crooks. Whoever has a hand in any of this madness has to go.

2010 is almost here.

UPDATE: Oh, you thought that “wood control” stupidity would never happen, right? Wrong.

The Fall of Global Warming

Even as protesters in Portland, Oregon (yes, Portland!) were protesting Al Gore’s appearance there on Wednesday, emails have been stolen by a hacker who broke into the University of East Anglia Climate Research Unit, one of the biggest proponents of AGW in England, and who was found to be juking stats to support their global warming claims earlier this year.

The emails reveal that there has been a pattern of doctoring results to support the climate change meme. In the example below, the Michael E. Mann referenced is the same discredited “scientist” who created the “Mann’s Hockey Stick” chart that Al Gore used as one of his proofs in his movie (also discredited).

Dear Ray, Mike and Malcolm,
Once Tim’s got a diagram here we’ll send that either later today or
first thing tomorrow.
I’ve just completed Mike’s Nature trick of adding in the real temps
to each series for the last 20 years (ie from 1981 onwards) amd from
1961 for Keith’s to hide the decline. Mike’s series got the annual
land and marine values while the other two got April-Sept for NH land
N of 20N. The latter two are real for 1999, while the estimate for 1999
for NH combined is +0.44C wrt 61-90. The Global estimate for 1999 with
data through Oct is +0.35C cf. 0.57 for 1998.
Thanks for the comments, Ray.

Cheers
Phil

I’ve been saying since I started blogging in 2002 that AGW is a scam. I have stood by my arguments while taking all sorts of abuse from true believers. And now the cat is out of the bag. The public is against the Cap and Trade bill and increasingly the whole climate change argument. Nature is proving the whole thing to be bunk.

Any politician pushing this swill is going to get pilloried. And just think, election year 2010 is less than six weeks away!

UPDATE: The Telegraph chimes in. And now Fox is talking about it, too.

Obama’s Greatest Bows

What a Mess

The Future of Comics

My latest Big Hollywood post where I discuss the future of comics.

The times, they are a changing and the fact is the print pamphlet comic is just too expensive and the distribution channel of the direct market is on shaky ground. Comics need to be freely available again like they once were, and cheap. And those days are soon upon us again.

Contrast

The way Obama “handled” the Fort Hood tragedy vs the way former President George W Bush did, with his wife, speaks volumes about the difference in character and leadership of these two men. Rather than say it myself, I will let a Hillary Fan blog do it. These Democrats had their eyes opened and they tell it like it is, as they see it.

Or course, Obama showed up for the funerals. There were a lot of cameras there. But Bush didn’t need any stinking press. He was there to console the grieving survivors and their families. Obama just wanted to give another pretty speech, which his usual fanboys are lapping up.

Obama is a talker, not a doer. He’s a great self promoter but what did he accomplish before being elected president besides getting good jobs? He barely showed up for his US Senate job and as state senator he voted present a lot. Say what you want about George W Bush, he did accomplish a lot in his life before and during his presidency. He won a war people said was impossible to win (Iraq), he pulled the economy out of deep recession after the dot com crash and 911. Sure, some people want to blame him for our current economy, but the evidence points elsewhere. Presidents do not control spending and oversight, congress does. Guess which party has been in power the last three years, when things went south? And they’re doing such a great job solving problems now. Just look at all the jobs they created with that stimulus money. Ooo Ahh.

Yeah, I know. Both parties have a hand in the deficit and so on. The truth is neither could have made that big a mess without the other party having a hand in it. But right now we need people have constructive solutions and one thing’s for sure. The prez isn’t one of them.

The Fix is In

The corruption infecting the body politic right now is as bad as I have ever seen it in my lifetime. It was probably worse in the 1930s, but we seemed to have returned to that time when gangsters funded politicians and controlled them. In these times the gangsters are unions like SEIU and groups like ACORN and the Tides foundation.

Not too long ago ACORN was caught red handed offering to help a team of undercover journalists set up child prostitution brothels. The government in faux outrage said they would investigate the matter, but also said they would go after the journalists who exposed the corruption there. Now it seems California’s ex-governor and current Attorney General is expected to help ACORN and go after the two film makers.

And in the Ft. Hood shootings you have a military officer who contacted Al Qaeda, shouted “Allah Ahkbar” as he shot at people, said incendiary, pro terrorist things before the shooting, he even dealt with the same imam who preached to the 9/11 terrorists and others. Yet, no one did anything, he was not fired or even suspended. And yet the we find out the military knew of some of this.

Political correctness and multiculturalism has run amok. On one hand you have corrupt leftists organizations being protected by fellow travelers in the government. And in the Hasan case, a fear of appearing discriminatory against flagrantly crazy muslims allows a mass murder to take place. Our government even jumps at the chance to to say there will be swift consequences if there is any backlash against muslims. That’s only going to make officials even more squeemish about dealing with reality. Now everyone is pointing fingers.

We are fighting two wars over seas. But we’re fighting two more here at home. One to defend our liberties against those who will take it from us with lies and bad laws. The other against fanatics who are stepping up their attacks on innocent people. These scattered shootings seem to be increasing and the press and authorities refuse to see it for what it is. If anything they keep blaming the victims. It’s stress. It’s racism. Etc. Etc.

The fault is he should have been relived of duty as unfit to serve. Anyone who tries to contact terrorists, sympathizes with them and serves in the military should not have a job there. But in an age where we search old white ladies for bombs while imams who deliberately act provocatively to test the system and then sue.

It takes events like those at Ft. Hood to force the authorities to stop pussy footing around. If someone is so obvious and then kills people, it will cause a lot of people to lose their jobs and that means the next time there will be much more scrutiny on such people. As there should be.

Obviously, innocent Muslims should not be harassed, but there hasn’t been any indication that they have been. Quite the opposite. But the west can’t be a doormat for crazed fanatics to blow up every time they feel like it. Tolerance has its place in society. But when someone crosses a line, there’s little room for it.

We’re at a point where we the people need to tell those in power that our tolerance of their ineptitude and corruption will no longer happen. Either they do their job or they are out. Point blank.

AKA: Suckers

No He Won’t

President Obama has made a lot of broken promises, but even the ones he intended to keep are turning out to be unreachable goals. The big one is his Health Care overhaul, aka Obamacare. It will probably go down in history as one of the biggest mistakes the Democrats ever made.

Senior Congressional Democrats told ABC News today it is highly unlikely that a health care reform bill will be completed this year, just a week after President Barack Obama declared he was “absolutely confident” he’ll be able to sign one by then.

“Getting this done by the by the end of the year is a no-go,” a senior Democratic leadership aide told ABC News. Two other key Congressional Democrats also told ABC News the same thing.

This may come as an unwelcome surprise for the White House, where officials from the president on down have repeatedly said the health care bill would be signed into law by the end of the year.

“I am absolutely confident that we are going to get health care done by the end of this year, and Nancy Pelosi is just as confident,” Obama said Oct. 27 at a fundraiser for the Democratic Congressional Campaign

Hubris, it’ll get you every time.

This comes as good news. And if Corzine loses New Jersey tonight, you can stick a fork in Obamacare. It’s done. The Dems who are wavering will waver no more. They will run for the hills. Barack Obama will effectively become a world record holder for becoming a lame duck president in the shortest amount of time.

Next year is an election year. Everyone will be playing CYA and they will not be willing to sign any bills as controversial as ObamaCare or Cap and Trade, Card Check, etc. That means President Obama won’t get anything he wants. And that means he’s done.

Even if Corzine wins New Jersey, the Dems have got to be worried about the mood out there. They are starting to see the polls and the polls are not happy.

UPDATE: Bye Bye Barry. You are about to become the first president in history to be a lame duck in the first year.

The Crazy, Clueless Pundits

There are certain events that reveal a lot about a person or groups of people. People are defined by how they react to given situations. And the most revealing situations are stressful. If the election tomorrow is any indication, a lot of Democrats are freaking out.

You know when they are desperate when they start calling conservatives crazy. It’s like they’re frightened peasants thinking some magic trinket is going to ward off the boogieman. The boogieman in this case is the will of the people.

Here’s how they’re spinning the NY-23 election tomorrow on Salon.

” Get ready for the Grand Old Tea Party takeover”", their headlines shout “The loony wing of the Republican Party prepares for a big day in Tuesday’s elections “

Got that? Tea partiers are “insane.” And they’re trying to take over the GOP. Frank Rich of the NY Times put it even more bizarrely.

The battle for upstate New York confirms just how swiftly the right has devolved into a wacky, paranoid cult that is as eager to eat its own as it is to destroy Obama. The movement’s undisputed leaders, Palin and Beck, neither of whom has what Palin once called the “actual responsibilities” of public office, would gladly see the Republican Party die on the cross of right-wing ideological purity. Over the short term, at least, their wish could come true.

[...]

The more rightists who win G.O.P. primaries, the greater the Democrats’ prospects next year. But the electoral math is less interesting than the pathology of this movement. Its antecedent can be found in the early 1960s, when radical-right hysteria carried some of the same traits we’re seeing now: seething rage, fear of minorities, maniacal contempt for government, and a Freudian tendency to mimic the excesses of political foes. Writing in 1964 of that era’s equivalent to today’s tea party cells, the historian Richard Hofstadter observed that the John Birch Society’s “ruthless prosecution” of its own ideological war often mimicked the tactics of its Communist enemies.

The same could be said of Beck, Palin and their acolytes. Though they constantly liken the president to various totalitarian dictators, it is they who are re-enacting Stalinism in full purge mode. They drove out Arlen Specter, and now want to “melt Snowe” (as the blog Red State put it). The same Republicans who once deplored Democrats for refusing to let an anti-abortion dissident, Gov. Robert Casey of Pennsylvania, speak at the 1992 Clinton convention now routinely banish any dissenters in their own camp.

Hilarious. The tea party people in NY wanted a real conservative to run, not another RINO. So they supported Hoffman, not Dede Scozzafava who was indistinguishable from a Democrat. She was even endorsed by ACORN. The conservatives did not want another RINO in government at a time when every vote counts in the upcoming Obamacare and Cap and Trade bill fights.

The voters have a right to have a say in who represents them. Dede Scozzafava was put up by a handful of local politicians. NY is the basket case of the US, when it comes to the state legislature. They even make California look sane. The voters have spoken and rejected the bureaucrats’ pick. It’s as simple as that.

There’s nothing “Stalinist” about what happened. And to show they were right to reject Dede, she quit the race and started endorsing the Democrat, Bill Owens. Even doing robocalls for him. How much more proof do you need that Dede was not a real Republican?

The left wing press will try to spin the elections tomorrow. If the Republicans win New Jersey, Virginia and Hoffman wins NY-23, they will see it as a referendum on Obama. But many will call it a right wing resurgence and start the scare tactics, demonizing Republicans who have largely played it low key this year.

A “right wing resurgence” is definitely on the wind. Obama is tanking. His numbers are falling fast. That’s why they are so desperate to get their bills passed this year. Next year may be too late.

Volpephobia

$60 Billion a Year

I’m working on an article about waste, fraud and abuse in government programs. I came across this segment from 60 Minutes of all places, discussing how much Medicare fraud costs the government every year. They say $60 million. I’ve seen numbers as high as $80 Billion, or 20% of every dollar Medicare pays out. The government pays out as much as $2 trillion, yes, trillion a year in Medicare costs. And they want to make a bigger government program. Got that?

Now check this out if you haven’t seen it.

Watch CBS News Videos Online

Medicaid fraud costs states huge sums every year as well. In many cases billions. And the states are all strapped for cash. That’s money that could go to pay for teachers, cops, firemen, services. We can’t trust the government to control more of the health care industry if they can’t even police the way they’re being robbed, or the degree to which it is happening. Yet, they show no interest in dealing with it beyond the usual lip service. They always say they’re going to fix it but they never do.

Meanwhile, in the absurd Pelosi health care bill has a provision to punish states that pass tort reform laws, despite that fact that such laws could save at least $54 billion a year. [ht:

The New Fascists

I hate to sound like I’m overstating things, but we really are living in scary times. It’s not just that our current administration is pushing the country toward a statist path, there are many others trying to institute a world government using the excuse of “climate change”. They are trying to get a treaty written in Copenhagen for signing in December. They know they need to hurry because people are becoming more aware of what a sham the whole AGW premise is. The public has lost interest in it as a threat and people are seeing that the world is getting colder, not warmer.

This world government is being set up to monitor every aspect of people’s lives. Mark Steyn explains what a sickening prospect the whole thing is here.

Meanwhile, in the states, they are trying to put all kinds of food fascist nonsense in the health care bills. One of the things in there is a demand for calorie counts on all menus and ending machines. You might say, so what? Well, that is how they always start. First they set up the premise that something is bad for you, then they start banning it on that basis. I am old enough to remember when “no smoking” was a recommendation. They asked people politely. Now you can’t smoke anywhere except in special zones and rooms.

You may say again, “So? Smoking is bad for you. Second hand smoke kills.” Yes, smoking is bad for you over a long period of time. But second hand smoke has never been proven to be bad for you, but you would never know that from the government propaganda. I am not endorsing smoking, but they will go after the things you like eventually because control freaks never tire of ruining other people’s pleasures.

Eco nazis want everyone to stop eating meat. Right now they’re recommending it, but believe me, when they get the power to do so, they will start demanding it.

That is what the new fascist are, the nanny staters. Unlike the old fascists, they don’t come at you with a gun, they try to make you agree to their control using guilt and scare tactics.

We simply can’t let them win. We’re at the point where we either fight back or face a very unpleasant future ruled by evil imbeciles.

My First Tea Party

I went over to the starting Tea Party Express event as they travel across the country this week. They kicked off here in San Diego in the park next to the Midway Aircraft carrier, which is over in the harbor near Seacoast Village. In fact, that area used to be where the tuna fleet was based when I was in high school. Of course, environmentalists drove all of the fleet to Costa Rica with their absurd claims that they were killing dolphins. So a lot of jobs went away from our economy.

I mention this because my step dad worked on those boats (as a cook) and he said the fishermen, who were all Portuguese, were very superstitious and considered dolphins like people, so they would not kill them. Other fisherman from Japan and elsewhere may have done that, but not our people. That kind of stuff helped me become so cynical about green scams.

But anyway, the park is now called Tuna Park and has a cool statue of Bob Hope and the sailor kissing the nurse from V day. I estimated there were around 2,000 people there. They all had hand made signs (except for one or two) and/or flags they bought there. As you can see in this picture, I stuck my “Don’t Tread on Me” flag in the back of my shirt, Samurai style.

Hudnall_TP_2009

It was a very spirited affair with speakers and musical entertainment. I ended up being far from the stage so I didn’t stay to see the whole thing. In fact, I couldn’t see the stage. But I enjoyed the energy. I was there about 90 minutes not including a 45 minute wait for it to start. I tried to get there early for parking, but I still had to go two blocks away to park at a pay lot.

The show started with someone singing the Star Spangled Banner very well. People sang along, then they did the pledge of allegiance. I would say most of the people there were middle aged, and white but there were plenty of Black, Asian and Hispanic faces. In fact several of the Tea Party express speakers were black, so it’s hardly a racist event. Everyone was well mannered. They were there to listen to the speakers talk about what can be done to prevent the radical changes Obama and his crew are trying to do.

But there was nothing radical about the event. It was a very orderly and peaceful. Like a mild rock concert, as there was a lot of music. And people got into it. They seemed to be having a good time.

The only disruptors we could see there where some people who were supposedly dressed as “the rich”, mocking the whole thing. Well, they looked out of place. Everyone else there was dressed casual. There was one guy in a Revolutionary type costume, with a tri-cornered hat. That was the only other costume I saw.

It’s pathetic that the Democrats are so terrorized by these things. The lies they and the MSM have said are appalling. It really tells you how corrupt and despicable the people in power are. These tea partiers are just concerned Americans voicing a protest. They are not all Republicans. More than a few people bashed Republicans as much as the Dems. A lot of people have become independents like me (I have always been an independent). They may have been dems or republicans. But not anymore.

I recommend checking one out if you can. The schedule is on their website.
