Natural Rights
A good rundown of the rights of mankind, the various theories and philosophies about them. If you’re not familiar with this stuff it’s good reading.
Also, this classic “None Dare Call It A Conspiracy” really comes home in this day and age. It was written in 1971 and the points it makes about statisms goals are all coming true. I remember reading this when I was in high school.
Plato’s Cave
Plato wrote an allegory called the Cave to explain how we only see reality in extremely limited ways. Most people are blinded by their own ideology, prejudices, emotions and thus are incapable of seeing the world as it truly is. Of course, Plato also believed that for every object or thing that exists, what we see is only an imperfect reflection on the wall of the cave and there is a perfect version somewhere out there in the universe that is the “true” form.
He touched upon a truth that is very profound. Human beings don’t see reality clearly. Many of them are chained in that cave and if you try to explain to them their predicament, they will get angry with you and attack you. But it is important to try to help other people open their eyes and see more clearly. Willful ignorance is the world’s greatest evil and it must be fought.
The Platonic Fallacy
This series of philosophy primers are great fun and very education for those of you not versed in the great philosophers. I highly recommend watching them on YouTube.
Today I wanted to talk about Plato, who is one of the greatest philosophers and is a huge influence on people today. As I have outlined in my theories of pararealism, there are only two political philosophies that matter when it comes to human society. LG (Limited Government) and BG (Big Government). Limited government works because it restricts politicians from becoming too powerful and corrupt. There is no perfect system, but the reason you see politicians always seeking more power is because they chafe under limited government. The push by politicians to champion big government is because it allows them to get away with all kinds of crimes and abuses of power. Those who seek more government are the enemies of liberty, except for themselves.
Where Plato fits into this is his theories on how a society should be. He was basically an elitist who hated democracy. He believed political systems should be ruled by elites who made all the decisions for the lesser beings. That is how our world is largely run today. While you hear many people claiming to champion democracy the truth is that is largely a farce to keep the public believing they have a say in things. Countries like Russia and Venezuela arguably have democracy but the system is so corrupted by the ruling class, it’s a sham. And in the United States, our voting system is riddled with fraud and abuse at many levels.
The Platonic thinkers believe in a utopia that has never existed and can’t exist because it goes against reality and human nature. Big government is sold by statists as the answer to everything. In truth, it creates the very problems it claims to solve. The larger a state becomes, the more corrupt and the less power the individual has.
Even if statists tell you they want to make the world a better place by empowering government through more laws and taxation, the evidence of history is the inverse is true. Those who seek to regulate and control humanity do not solve the problems of human nature. They only make it worse. The only way a society can work is by dealing realistically with human nature, not by trying to control or regulate it.
The Paradox of Human Nature
Adolus Huxley who wrote “Brave New World” and George Orwell, author of “1984″ had conflicting visions of the future that were both right and wrong. They both viewed two sides of human nature at its extremes. This comic perfectly describes the paradox.
The yin/yang of human nature is pulling and pushing us. In some people one is stronger than the other. We see societies where one form of government is stronger, like the Orwellian North Korea or Iran, and then we have a Huxley style society like the US which feeds to the wants of the people and tries to get them dependent on the nanny state. Both are bad for the human race. People need to be independent for the state.
Industrialization and Capitalism are Good For You
Professor Hans Rosling is a master of statistics and his analysis of wealth and health statistics over the last 200 years shows that the human race has been lifted up by two things, greater economic freedom from free markets (capitalism) and industrialization. The societies that embraced those two things have done the best and those who were mired in the repressive and primitive methods of the past lagged behind. But the great thing about these two systems is they have an effect of lifting everyone up over time.
The people who want to destroy capitalism and technological progress, and you know who we’re talking about, want to destroy the human race, or at the least, bring us back to the darker ages. And that is why we must fight them. We do not want to return to a past of disease, poverty and oppression. We want to march into a bright and glorious future. And that is why we need to reject the failed ideologies of statists and embrace calls for free enterprise, limited government and advanced science.
Free to Choose: The Power of the Market
A must see film by Nobel prize winning economist Milton Friedman about the importance of free markets and why statism is the enemy of personal liberty. The Right Network is serializing it, so check back for further installments.
Statism is Dead
This video is rather harsh in it’s assessment of governments, but essentially correct. Governments were created to manage people, not the other way around. However, he is wrong about the original intent of America. But what it has become is another matter. His livestock analogy is shocking, but elites see everyone else as units of production or use. Not as people. And the part where he describes how the “slaves” are trained to attack anyone who exposes the scam is dead on. See how these statist pimps like Media Matters or Think Progress operate. They are their master’s voice.
Dealing with Reality
Reality is all that matters when it comes to government. You have to go with what’s true over the false. What works over what doesn’t.
It doesn’t matter what politicians say, it matters what they do. If they do not act in accordance with the law, if they do things that are reckless and unworkable, they need to go.
It doesn’t matter what party they’re from. We only need realists in government. People who will not spend us into oblivion.
For example, we had several stimulus bills under different names. They did not work. The first was to fund “shovel ready jobs” that never materialized. And then we find that 72,000 stimulus checks went to dead people. I guess the democrats were trying to repay their voters.
The choice we have next month is between politicians who want to keep spending us into bankruptcy, who don’t care about the constitution or the rule of law or what the people want. And politicians who claim they will follow the constitution, cut spending and taxes, eliminate waste. We don’t know if some of these fresh faces will live up to their promises, but we know, for a fact and from bitter experience that the politicians who’re trying to keep their jobs have failed us miserably, have done what they pleased rather than what we wanted.
No more.
The president and his party have no solutions that work. They are miserable failures and frauds. They can’t run on their record so they are trying to demonize their opponents. Always a sign of a liar. Honest people don’t need to do that.
It’s almost a cosmic metaphor when Obama’s presidential seal fell off his podium and then a bunch of people got sick at one of his rallys. The president has made nothing but wrong moves from day one. And this coming election looks to be a repudiation of both him and the Democrats.
The only question is, will the Republicans actually do what they claim once they’re elected.
The tea party may be there to make sure they do. But time will tell. All we can do is get rid of the baggage that has been dragging us down and hope for the best.
The Two Choices
It’s very revealing to watch the reaction to Glenn Beck’s rally this weekend. His 9/12 movement was intended to “restore honor” in Washington and the way the left is attacking it and the tea party tells you everything you need to know about them. The way they are trying to demonize people who are sick of the corruption and waste in Washington, is to to make them out to be racists and radicals. This is all coming from people who want big government, want more taxes, more authority for bureaucrats. In otherwords, the promoters of statism. The enemies of personal liberty.
They’re attacking this rally as if it’s an assault on civil rights because its being held at the same place, on the anniversary of a famous Martin Luther King speech. But the intentions of this rally has to do with bringing back limited government. And the only people who would have a problem with restoring the constitution are its enemies. And they seem to be viewing this rally as a big threat. The leftists are sending their thugs to try to disrupt it. What does that tell you?

I’ve been watching a film this week called the Baeder-Meinhoff Complex, about a famous German couple that were Marxist terrorists in the early 70s in Europe. During that time we had these kind of people running around the west, murdering and committing mayhem all in the name of “liberation”. But they were nothing but egotistical, violent lunatics who wanted to be famous. We had the SLA, Black Panthers and the Weathermen in the US. No Marxist revolutionary has ever been anything but a murderer and an enemy of freedom. Marxists don’t liberate anyone. If they win they enslave the population and imprison them behind the iron curtain. At least, that was the case in the 70s. We got to see the Iron curtain fall in the late 80s, thank god. But there are still plenty of creeps who want to take us back to those days.
The same people who are attacking Beck and the tea party for being against the growing totalitarianism of this administration. They are the aging survivors of that age of stupidity.
Listen to all those people attacking this rally and you see what they’re really against. Freedom.
They claim to be against racism when there is none in the tea party. They claim to be against radicals, when they are in fact that very thing. They are really trying to shut down a healthy debate about what kind of government we want. They do not want the expansion of government to stop. History has shown time and time again that the more powerful a government is, the less freedom the people have. We live in a representational democratic Republic. They are opposed to the people having a voice.
You have only two choices when it comes to government. One where the people rule and the other where the state dictates. Which side do you want to be on. The one for freedom or the one for slavery?
The enemies of this rally have made their choice already.
UPDATE: Here’s a good example of what I’m talking about when it comes to the state.
Talk about setting up a false argument
Political Nihilism
As we’ve discussed before, there are only two ultimate political paths, one leading to freedom, the other to slavery. The latter is the path of some kind of statism. Leftists have founded a temporary pact with Islamists that doesn’t seem to make any sense. But on further analysis, it does. This article breaks it down really well. Read the whole thing.
A taste:
It is the thesis of this commentary that both socialism and Islam are forms of political nihilism, and that both contend that the life of the individual has no intrinsic meaning or value outside of their systems. One ascribes meaning to the individual as a unit of society and its servant, and no more than that. The other ascribes meaning to the individual as a debtor to and servant of a supreme being, and no more than that.
As demonstrated by the actions of President Barack Obama and a Democratic Congress over the last one and a half years, socialism (with fascist trappings) adheres to its purpose of destroying all existing political, social and economic orders as a prerequisite for any further improvement. This is and continues to be the goal of Obama’s “hope and change.”
As demonstrated by the alleged “extremists” of Islam, and by their “non-violent” brethren, Islam likewise seeks to destroy all existing political, social, economic, and religious orders as a prerequisite for any future improvement, which is a global caliphate in which all men submit to Islam, one way or another, or die.

Runaway Slave
This guys message is aimed at the black community, but it’s true of all Americans. Statists are the new slavery pimps. Those of us who want limited government are for freedom. The choice is that simple. Dependence on the state is slavery, point blank.
The New Look for Pararealist
I changed the look of Pararealist.com, making it more simple and easier to read. I wanted a more spartan look for it and I like this blog theme.
I’ll be writing a bunch of new articles this month so look for them. In the meantime, I’d like to introduce the theory of Political Realism if you hadn’t heard about it. It was one of the influences on my political theory. It is a rationalist view of politics, which is more in the sphere of the 4th level of reality. But it’s well worth checking out.
Pararealism.com
I’ve created a new website to further explore and develop my philosophy which is also my official position on politics and everything else. It’s a place where people can go if they are interested in learning more about this philosophy which will be actively developed on the site.
Right now its in the early stages, but I will be adding to it and puttting in some features as time goes on.
The Secret Powers of Time
This is a fascinating video which ties in well with my para-realism philosophy of understanding how we look at reality. This next video is related. It talks about empathy and how it affects a civilization.
