Is Obama A Flake?

[Via Read more -->

Mayor Koch

Watch the Thomas Sowell video below to see how wrong Koch is on rent control. Koch is an old school Democrat. But at least he’s a realistic one in many respects and honest. He’s an interesting character. I remember well his term, even though I was just a teenager at the time and lived in California. He made national attention.

Obama’s Firsts

President Obama has made a lot of historical firsts besides winning a nobel prize for doing nothing and being the first black president. Of course, it’s not a list you would want to be on unless you’re a scumbag.

How Bad Is Congress?

As if I needed to ask that question. Will Rogers once said “No one is safe as long as Congress is in session.” It’s always been a corrupt bunch of fools ruining the country. This article by a former congressional staffer is an interesting read how bad it is.

The Difference Between Bush and Obama

Talk about a narcissist. With Obama it’s all I, I, I,me, me,me

End Times

So some cult thinks tomorrow will be the end of the world. Apparently the president is trying to accommodate them.

Every week it’s another outrage, another absurdity. This week he wants the majority of Israel to be handed off to the Palestinians just like that. At a time when the middle east is on fire, largely in part because of the terrible decisions he made or didn’t make while dithering around for months.

And now he’s saying he doesn’t need Congressional approval for Libya even though we’ve been there two months and counting.

We also learn that his administration has been covertly trying to get anti-gun laws through bypassing congress.

As bad as the Republican candidates look so far, I can’t help but wonder if there is a worse option than what we have now. This president doesn’t respect the constitution or our allies. He seems utterly clueless about everything. I don’t blog about him much anymore because it’s almost pointless. He’s a walking talking parody.

No Trump Either

I am glad Trump is bowing out as a presidential candidate. He would probably only hurt the election by drawing people away from other “more real candidates”.* He has said some worthwhile things but he has also said some really foolish things. He did show he could taken on the president in a war of words. But after the way he was attacked at the press club gathering a few weeks ago, he seemed really quiet. Maybe he couldn’t take the heat.

More likely he saw that they would go to great lengths, both the media and the Democrats, to try to destroy his name and he wisely chose not to let that happen.

Politics is a nasty, ugly business. We get crappy choices because of the sick carnival it has turned into. I suspect Romney will do very well now as he is a strong contender. But I find him too slick. What happens in the rest of this year should be interesting, but it won’t be till next year til we know who the candidate will be. All talk right now is pure speculation.

* I don’t think most candidates are very real in the long run since they become so compromised by special interests supporters. That’s politics.

No Huckabee

I’m glad because he’s too much of a statist and I generally don’t trust preacher politicians. He seems like a nice guy, but he loves the nanny state too much. Hopefully there will be some decent people running in the primaries next year and not the usual drek.

BIH*: Osama is Dead

So after 10 years and billions of dollars spent, two wars fought, Osama Bin Laden has finally been caught. And of course, the current president wants to take all the credit. Too bad he couldn’t have waited till next year, because it won’t help him much by then. People will be back to being angry with him over $6 a gallon gas prices and runaway inflation. But for now he will enjoy a bump in his sagging poll numbers which were in the low 40s. He might be able to ride that for a couple of months. We’ll see.

Watching the Obama supporters, dwindling as they may be, gloating about this would be amusing if it weren’t so sad. They’re giving credit to the politician who has helped screw up their lives over the last two years. They were all mad at him and getting more and more dissatisfied. Now, many will forget their annoyance for a month or two until gas and food prices snap them back into reality. We know Obama is a killer, just look at the economy. But seriously, it’s the military who deserves the credit. They did the work. Obama may have given a green light, but which president wouldn’t when facing an election in a year with poll numbers in the low 40s? He finally has something positive to say after two and a half years that isn’t a lie.

The bottom line is whenever someone becomes as notorious as Osama Bin Laden, they are a marked man. It’s only because he had fanatics protecting him that he lasted this long. Every gangster, terrorist, villain comes to an end sooner or later. The only exception are rulers who have powerful allies, like Kim Jong Il. But Osama was basically a prisoner of his own fame for the last decade. He may have been caught in some mansion in Pakistan, but he did not have the freedom he once enjoyed as the son of a wealthy Saudi family. That was his choice.

It’ll be amusing to watch the press making it out to be Obama’s big triumph. Already the yahoos on the social sites are saying it makes it impossible for anyone to beat him next year. Yeah, right.

* BIH (Burn in Hell)

UPDATE: From Time Magazine, no less: Why Bin Laden’s Death No Longer Really Matters. I have to say, after all this time it does feel pretty eh. Like I’m glad it happened, but I would have preferred they captured him alive or did this 8 years ago. 10 years and billions of dollars later, it all feels anti-climatic. And it’s not like they are going to let us carry our shampoo bottles again on our carry on luggage.

How’s This for a Candidate Speech?

I don’t remember any politicians talking like that before. This is why Trump is only getting more popular. People are tired of spin, they like directness.

Would I vote for him? The problem with Trump is his history is all over the map. I judge politicians by their past accomplishments and actions. He has none as a politician, but we can see how he has operated and I question his sincerity on many issues. But I have to admit, I do like the way he isn’t pussyfooting around. I suspect he saw how Governor Christie got popular and is following suit.

Is Obama’s Birth Certificate a Fake?

It sure looks that way.

I’ve heard the argument that conspiracies don’t happen because someone always talks. Well, that’s naive. If a conspiracy is successful, you would never have heard of it. The fact is, they happen all the time. We only hear about the ones that fail or reveal themselves, like Al Qaeda. If Obama wanted his birth certificate faked, he would have a limited poll of people he could trust to do it, for risk the word would get out. That would explain this amateurish job.

The question remains, why wait three years to release a document he could have released back when he was a candidate? McCain released his? Why couldn’t Obama?

And in case anyone is confused where I stand on this “birther” issue, I don’t care where he was born. He’s already been in office over two years and he’s done enough damage already. The toothpaste is out of the tube. I care about the fact that he refuses to reveal basic information about himself, like his school records, his state senate records, etc. Every politician reveals their historical records, but Obama has spent millions to hide them. Why?

The public has a right to know the truth about this man’s past and connections and his refusal to reveal it beyond his books is a disgrace.

UPDATE: Another analysis that goes into it in detail. Very convincing.

Finally! Obama Releases Birth Certificate

It shows a real contempt for the public to have waited three years to do this when he could have done it much sooner and saved a lot of speculation. It also makes him look suspicious. He still hasn’t released all his other records, which other candidates do on a regular basis. We don’t know what his college records look like, his medical records, etc. All of this should have been available before he was elected. Now that he is running for reelection it’s time he releases this info. Trump is jumping on that now. And by doing what Trump says, Obama looks weak.

Obama called Trump a carnival barker today, yet he jumped to his tune. Trump knows how to play the media even better than Obama. This will be an interesting fight.

UPDATE: Or is it a photoshop job? An expert says it is.

Worst President Ever

According to Donald Trump, Obama is the worst president ever. I agree, as his terrible speech yesterday showed, the president has no ideas other than raising taxes and make government bigger, Which are two of the worst things you can do, even in good times. If high taxes solved problems, they’d never have been lowered. The fact is, high taxes hurts the economy. JFK lowered taxes in the 1960s from insanely high levels and the economy boomed. Government can’t do anything right as we’re witnessing every day. Making it bigger only makes certain it will all collapse sooner. Obama seems hell bent on making us the next Greece.

But Trump, who is winning over some people, was calling Obama potentially a great president before he was sworn in. Despite claims to the contrary, Trump was a McCain supporter it turns out. But I think his comments on Obama here have changed because he’s seen what Obama is made of now.

Being shills for the state, the press is going to try to tear down Trump now because he’s going after Obama. The problem for them is, Trump’s very media savvy and knows how to play them. As for Obama, Jay Cost at the Weekly Standard, one of the best political analysts working today, said it best about this president. He’s just plain bad at politics. What seemed like a brilliant campaign in 2008 was more like a clever opportunist being at the right place at the right time. Now that he has the job, he’s shown he’s incapable of doing it. And that’s bad for everyone. His policies effect the world. The fact remains that everything is looking bad for America as long as he’s in power.

We’re all waiting to see who gets to run against him. So far, Trump is making a good play.
