People are Sick of the Lies
The “Tragedy in Tuscon” as the press is calling it has been used by partisans, mainly on the left, to try to demonize and brand their opponents, despite the fact that they had nothing to do with it. It’s yet another in a long like of hysterical responses that has been going on since Bill Clinton started with the politics of personal destruction when he blamed conservatives for Oklahoma City. And the 2000 election and Iraq/Afghanistan wars only made things worse. It’s gotten to the point where both parties are being abandoned in droves and people are registering as independents.
Come on in, the water’s fine. As soon as the parties are made to feel accountable by the electorate, they will start to clean up their act. They haven’t gotten the message yet. At leasdt, the Democrats haven’t. The Republicans so some signs of getting it but they’re on a short leash.
The usual hacks are trying to shut down political debate like good fascists, using this event as an excuse. They do it every time.
But what’s really concerning is how politicized and polarized things have gotten. This has largely been the invention of the political class which is trying to use fear and anger to get people to agree with their agenda. In the process they are losing voters on both sides.
America is sick of arguing. We want responsible leadership. Right now we don’t have it. The side that starts acting like sane adults has a good chance of winning in 2012.
Why Democrats are Called the Evil Party
In the DC beltway they have nicknames for both political parties. Republicans are called the stupid party. Democrats are called the evil party.
Why evil? If it’s not obvious to you by now I don’t know what to say except look at the way they’re acting over this recent shooting in Nevada. They immediately blamed it on the Tea Party and Sarah Palin, even though the shooter has no connection to either and is in fact a leftist wacko who lists his favorite books as Mien Kampf and The Communist Manifesto. Hardly big on Tea Party reading lists. Not to mention he’s into burning American flags.
But look who the democrats and their minions in the press and blogs are acting. They’re all pointing the fingers at the tea party and Sarah Palin. Even TMZ, which is very pro-Democrat is polling the completely stupid question: Should Sarah Pain be blamed?
The excuse for blaming her goes to to last year’s election where she “targeted” Democrats that she said should lose because of their support for Obamacare and the Stimulus. We’re talking three months ago or more. Completely unrelated to this shooting. But this particular politician, the one who was shot, was one of the politicians Palin “targeted”. And if you go around to social network sites all the usual robots are repeating the same hysterical meme like good little slaves. Because that’s how Democrats work. They lie to their believers and get them all worked up in order to demonize their opponents.
And these are the same people who are always calling Republicans racist at the drop of a hat and screaming about profiling.
Instead of dealing with the sad facts of this case, where a guy who was obviously insane, despite his politics, the left is going into over drive to blame the right. This is what they did over the Oklahoma City Bombing in the 90s. Politics in this case had nothing to do with it. The shooter was to the left of a relatively moderate Democrat.
It’s disgusting stuff like this which drives me to speak out as I do about politics. These kind of actions are a threat to our freedoms and liberties because Democrats like to use them to pass new laws taking away more of our rights. Watch what happens in the following weeks if they manage to get any traction with this. The MSM are ignoring the shooters political ties while continuing the tea party rhetoric.
The worst fascists in history have used these techniques to tighten their grip on power. The Democrats are not your friends, or the good guys, or on your side. And if you believe I’m wrong you are either George Soros or about to find out the truth the hard way.
Bi-Partisan Defeat of Obamacare
The Congress just voted to repeal Obamacare. The CBO sent out the message that such a move would cut half a trillion dollars in spending.
The Congressional Budget Office, in an email to Capitol Hill staffers obtained by the Spectator, has said that repealing the national health care law would reduce net spending by $540 billion in the ten year period from 2012 through 2021. That number represents the cost of the new provisions, minus Medicare cuts. Repealing the bill would also eliminate $770 billion in taxes. It’s the tax hikes in the health care law (along with the Medicare cuts) which accounts for the $230 billion in deficit reduction.
A great way to start off the 112th Congress. And it shows how they can cut the deficit and debt and taxes all at the same time. Of course, the president and Senate Dems will try to kill it. We’ll see what they do. But in doing so they will reveal themselves to be against saving half a trillion dollars in spending and $770 billion in taxes. Not to mention a ton of regulations.
The Worst Congress Ever
On Nancy Pelosi’s first day as leader of the 111th Congress in 2007 she made the following pledge.
But what really happened is her congress is responsible for more debt and spending than all the previous 100 congresses combined. This is a congress that was criminally negligible, if not criminally intent. There have been several times when they said they wanted more power from the people. They wanted more taxes constantly, to pay for their reckless behavior. And anyone who dared criticize them or speak out was labeled an extremist. Remember all the tea party bashing?
Of course, plenty of people believed their lies and still do, despite all that’s happened. Fortunately, most do not. Obamacare is still unpopular as ever. The voters kicked out a lot of Democrats last month.
The president said last week that this was the most “productive” congress ever. Considering how much damage they did to the economy, I guess those theories about him trying to trash America are true.
Good Bye and Good Riddance, Congress 2010
Mark Twain said it best: ‘No man’s life, liberty, or property is safe, while Congress is in session.’
The 111th Congress is closing out the week with the last few things they could ram through. But even worse than the START treaty are two things Obama pulled off without congress, against the will of the courts. And this may give us a taste of what’s to come starting next year.
Obama’s FCC decided they could regulate the internet yesterday and this is something the statists have wanted for awhile. Today, Obama’s EPA decided to do their own end run around congress imposing their version of Cap and Trade with new regulations on carbon emissions which will undoubtedly raise energy prices and kill jobs. During one of the worst winters on record they want to “fight global warming” with their utterly stupid and unscientific limits on carbon emissions.
Obama said he is focusing on the economy now. Apparently, he wants to kill it.
Next month a wholly different congress will come in and hopefully reverse a lot of the damage Obama has wrought. There will also be plenty of investigations into these many illegal attempts to seize more control of the economy. People on the left and the right are very concerned about the things this administration is doing. They should be because its all to the benefit of special interests whose motives are nothing less than corrupt. Many of the bills passed in this congress benefited big players who were in business with the administration and penalized and punished those who were not.
The Pelosi congress is shutting down this week and they are all going off to vacation or retirement as many of them were voted out. It’s too bad Pelosi will becoming back. But we can hope she will be there to see all her horrible work get undone before her eyes.
A Day of Infamy
Well, today 10 Republicans caved to allow the senate to ratify a START treaty agreement which will make America much weaker just as the president wanted. They just had to ram this through before the worst congress in history is over. At a time when the world is getting more violent, Obama wants to neuter us. The Dems are happy to oblige as were 10 RINOS.
And to make matters worse, today the Democrats on the FCC voted to have the government regulate internet service providers. They did so after Congress and the courts told them not to. Expect a legal battle next year. That one is far from over. But if they get away with it bad things can follow. I am rooting for them to fail.
Next year will be telling. Either the Republicans turn back the tide of statism imposed by the Democrats in the last two years, or they will just let the rot continue. It’s crucial that the voters don’t allow this sort of insanity to continue,
The Democrats Are Doomed
Today the Pelosi lead Democrats shut down Obama’s tax deal with the Republicans. They don’t want to extend tax breaks to people making over $250,000. Considering that half of the people in that category are small business owners, this is how it will effect the majority of job creators in the American economy.
If no deal is struck before years end, everyone’s taxes will go up and the Dems will be blamed. Further, they just passed the Dream Act which the Senate just stalled. But it would give amnesty to millions of illegal aliens. Combine that with the Pigford reparations deal which is bound to be cause for investigations and scandal next year and the Dems, who have already suffered major losses in November, are doomed leading up to the 2012 presidential elections.
They dug their own grave with their insane policies which only a handful of extremists wanted.
State of the Nation
I was surfing the web to see what interesting stories there were and one leaped out at me that got on my nerves. On Reddit someone posted a vanity post, which is common there, that said the following:
Mr. Obama, if you cave on tax cuts for the rich, you will lose your most dedicated supporters. I am the one who defends you with great passion – but if you cave on tax cuts for the rich, if you let the republicans bully you around… AGAIN … Well.. You are big pussy – and I do not support pussies.
I am fine with my taxes going up, even a lot, even though I am totally struggling, JUST to stick it in the eye of the GOP.
Trickle down is nothing more than metaphor for rich people peeing on our heads.
Sounds like something a Millennial might post. It’s annoying how ignorant and brainwashed many people are, young and old. The media and our pathetic education system has done a good job of making willing slaves to the state. Let’s deal with some facts.
#1. We are in debt because of rampant government spending. And that is the work of the very politicians he is begging to tax him more (or the “rich”). It’s like a slave begging for more whiplashes. How much debt do we have? You’ve probably heard the $14 trillion dollar number. About equal to the entire gross domestic product (GDP) of the United States or the European Union. So where does it put us in the scheme of things? We’re the country that is the most in debt of all 190 countries on Earth. That is thanks to big government pushers in both parties. They’ve sold us down the river.
Want to know which country is the least indebted? China. How do you like that one?
#2. Raising taxes isn’t a solution to anything. It’s robbing people of their income to feed a voracious beast that is never sated. The government of the United States was, until recently, the #1 economy on earth for decades. The EU just topped us. Regardless, last year alone we took in $2.104 trillion in tax revenues. That’s down from previous years when it was around 2.5. That is more money than the GDP of all but the top six economies of the world. And that’s just our tax revenue. Yet, they couldn’t live with that, no. We took in 2.1 trillion dollars. Do you know how much we spent last year? $3.52 trillion. Yes, we spent 1.4 trillion dollars more than we took in. This is not new. We usually spend more than we take in. Under President Obama it has been in the trillion dollar range. But you can see that the issue here is spending. That is, if you’re sane. Because taxes will not be enough to fix this debt. The economy is hurting and that largely comes from the way we are taxed. We have some of the highest taxes in the developed world. It is hurting businesses and working families. More taxes will not fix the problem. The logical answer is to cut spending. And cut it by large amounts. Balancing the budget can be done without raising taxes.
It can be done. But politicians largely done’t have the political will. That is where voters come in, We have to make them do it.
The statists and the masochists who want more taxes always buy into the lie that more government is the solution to problems. The truth is the government creates the problems, makes them worse, then demands more money to “solve” the problem it creates in the first place. But of course, it never solves a single problem. Once a department is created, it tends to make matters worse. It always finds new ‘crises’ that need solving because they have to justify their existence.
Things have gotten so bad we’re now in the worst economy since the Great Depression and the Democrats want to make it worse by increasing taxes. Not just on income, but in a lot of other ways.
So when you hear someone say we need to raise taxes, on anyone. Rich or poor, hit them over the head with these facts. We need to stop this insanity.
