The Psycho

Universal Pictures has purchased the rights to produce The Psycho graphic novel as a feature film. Chris Morgan has been signed on to write the film. Morgan is known for writing the last two Fast and Furious movies, as well as Wanted which is currently in production.

The Psycho was originally published by DC Comics in 1991. It was written by James Hudnall and illustrated by Daniel Brereton. A trade collecting the work is available from Image Comics.

The story concerns a CIA agent assigned to watching superhumans, nicknamed “psychos”, that work for foreign governments. When he is exposed as an agent and is behing hunted, he has to become the one thing he despises most to survive. He becomes a psycho.

The story was way ahead of its time, but is much copied today.
