Obvious Statement of the Day

Newsweek asks a question that is no surprise to any free thinker.

Obama still has the approval of the people, but the establishment is beginning to mumble that the president may not have what it takes.

First of all, as I pointed out repeatably in the election, Obama has no record of doing anything significant except getting elected to a higher office before he finishes the job he was elected to do. He has done nothing of note in any political office he has held. He showed up late routinely for Senate meeting and barely showed up at all as senator. In addition to that, he is an ideologue who voted with his party 98% of the time. His associations were suspect. So why should anyone expect him to do a great job at one of the most critical tim4es in our economic history?

The alleged “smart people” were all for Obama. Yes, some of us know they aren’t that smart at all. Just a bunch of smug elitist clowns who should not be calling any shots and probably won’t be for much longer the way things are going in the media these days.

Obama is in way over his head. And he’s surrounded himself with other smug creeps who are also ill equipped to do anything in this time of crisis. Or ever in my opinion. To make matters worse, he has Biden as VP. And they made fun of Sarah Palin. Please!

This is the guy who fought against the surge and now says we’re losing in Afghanistan. Imagine if for some reason Obama is out of office all of a sudden and Biden takes over. Yikes!

We have a head of a treasury who couldn’t figure out Turbo-Tax.

Almost every other Obama appointee cheated on their taxes, but they want to raise everyone elses.

And let’s not forget the incredibly idiotic way his administration dealt with visiting British PM Gordon Brown. They treated one of our biggest allies as a joke, like last week’s episode of “Flight of the Conchords” where the White House isn’t even sure if New Zealand is a real country so they won’t let the prime minister see the president. Among the many slights to Brown, they wouldn’t host a state dinner for him (a tradition), he returned a bronze bust of Winston Churchill the Brits gave us a a symbol of their friendship after 9/11 and then, in an exchange of gifts. He gave Brown 12 DVDs. Basically 12 movies most peole already own if they have a movie collection. And they weren’t even in PAL format, so they couldn’t play on his DVD player!

How amateurish can you get? Either they’re complete fools or they’re so contemptuous they make Bush’s much vaunted tin ear for diplomacy look brilliant.

And look at Obama’s moves on fixing the economy. It’s basically a list of everything NOT to do when faced with an economic downturn. Raising taxes on the people who hire is going to limit job growth. Punishing energy companies means they will pass the costs on to consumers. Obama wouldn’t haves 2 minutes playing Sim City, yet 52% of America voted him president.

Obama may be the Democrats kryponite. It’s almost ironic he considers himself a green president. He may have the same effect on the Democrats that kryptonite does on Superman.

UPDATE: Worst president ever? After only six weeks in office, he may qualify. For example:

Mr. Obama’s $3.6 trillion budget blueprint, by his own admission, redefines the role of government in our economy and society. The budget more than doubles the national debt held by the public, adding more to the debt than all previous presidents — from George Washington to George W. Bush — combined. It reduces defense spending to a level not sustained since the dangerous days before World War II, while increasing nondefense spending (relative to GDP) to the highest level in U.S. history. And it would raise taxes to historically high levels (again, relative to GDP). And all of this before addressing the impending explosion in Social Security and Medicare costs.

He seems to be trying to make it impossible for the US to raise defense spending in the future, and trying to bankrupt us on social programs at the same time. This guy more than dangerous. Stupidity can’t even serve as an excuse here. There are people who work with him and are going along with it. The paranoids may have been right all along.

Drowning in Debt

Democrats seem to think the answer to everything is taxes. They think taxes cure cancer. In fact, in the president’s recent speech he claimed we will cure cancer in our lifetimes. Why he didn’t throw in a cure for AIDs and world hunger is beyond me. He seems to like make grandiose promises.

Obama is trying to drown the US tax payer in debt for two reasons. He’s attempting to ram through his socialist agenda, universal health care and global warming taxes so that the government is permanently made larger and the debts laid on all of us will make us indentured servants of the nanny state for many generations. The second is the typical grandiose vainglorious motives so many leaders have. He wants a lasting legacy. He’s trying to buy this with the people’s money.

His budget includes a $634 billion “down payment” on universal health care even though the people didn’t vote for that and it has not been approved by the congress or the senate (yet). He’s banking on the Democrat majority to ensure it happens. And once there, the government will be able to dictate your life style even more than they do now.

He is putting taxes on carbon emissions, which is like putting taxes on breathing because every time you exhale, you are letting out carbon dioxide. Cap and Trade is an environmentalist scam and it’s yet another attempt to soak businesses, who are already over burdened with taxes and regulations.

There is no evidence that carbon dioxide is a “dangerous pollutant”. It’s part of nature. It’s food for plants. But Obama’s anti-science government wants to try to control it. A laughable and insane objective. So why does he do it? His budget projects $645 billion in revenues from the sale of emission allowances. Basically this will give the government more contriol over the energy busines than they already have. All you have to do is how well the government has run Amtrak, the Post Office, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to see what a poor idea it is to give the government too much power.

And he plans to tax the rich into the stone age. That has never worked and always stagnates the economy. We did that already in the past and it only kept us in a perpetual cycle of recessions and stagflation until Reagan cut taxes. When Bush did it it pulled us out of the post 9/11 recession and we had a period of great wealth generation. Our crash came from two many people using credit to further their extravagant lifestyles. And too many others taking advantages of the governments lax lending policies, which is not subject to change, apparently.

Take a look at this chart and you can see what an irresponsible leader Obama is. All the talk of Bush’s extravagance pales in comparison.

deficit

They want us in debt because it makes people more dependent. People who are financially sound are more free to make up their minds. Whose who are dependent on the state are more likely to vote for statist candidates.

Obama is for more government, more laws regulating people. The Democrats are even trying to regulate free speech. They failed to pass the fairness doctrine but they are going for it in other ways, even trying to control free speech on the Internet.

By their acts you shall know them.
